DepEd San Pablo City gears up for Senior High
“Unity is strength…When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” This inspiring passage of Mattie Stepanek, an American poet, is very much relevant to our division’s venture in consonance with DepEd’s implementation of K to 12 program.
To express the division’s keen support to DepEd’s four-week campaign on proper information dissemination concerning schools’ K to 12 readiness, San Jose NHS, San Pablo City Science High School and Santisimo Rosario NHS enthusiastically complied by conducting various activities.
Considering the schools’ physical facilities and obtainable space for the construction of more buildings, the division of San Pablo has appointed the aforementioned public secondary schools to proffer varied courses in senior high. San Jose National High School will offer Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) and General Academic Strand (GAS). Being a science-oriented institution, San Pablo City Science High School will open Science and Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS). Furthermore, Santisimo Rosario NHS is gearing up for Technical Vocational Livelihood.
Initially, concerned learning institutions responded immediately to this summon through their uploaded posters in the schools’ facebook accounts which are open not only for teachers, but for all students and parents as well. Stakeholders have expressed sincere pledges of support and acknowledged the uploaded posters with the slogan “Handa na tayo para sa K to 12.” as they clicked “Like” and gave helpful comments. The announcement was uploaded last June 5, 2015 in response to the said campaign.
During the second week, June 11, 2015, the said schools proudly displayed advertising tarpaulins bearing the same catchphrase expressing that the institutions are gearing up for K to 12.
More activities that could help disseminate information on K to 12 readiness, such as Education Summit, SLAC session, Senior High Orientation, Carreer Guidance and newsletter publication have been successfully carried out.
Prior to the aforementioned school events, a meeting was set last academic year regarding the school’s task and plan to establish Senior High School for the scholastic year 2016-2017.
Moreover, in every inauguration and meeting with parents and stakeholders Hon. Loreto S. Amante, our City Mayor, and Schools Division Superintendent Mrs. Susan DL. Oribiana constantly deliver their speech by enlightening some issues regarding K to 12 School and announce their full support to Senior High in addition.
Now in the concluding year of Grade 10, the Division Senior High School Team once again ensures in full force the contingency plan for the continuance of this purpose.
As an advocate of quality education, the Division of San Pablo City will always be more than willing to support DepEd’s plans for the possible attainment of its prime goal to achieve excellence in education.
Hand in hand, we can topple adversities that hinder our way to achieving triumph in this educational endeavor. Indeed, strength exists in unity.
